Role and Responsibilities of Merchandising Associate:

As a Merchandising Associate Associate, your role entails delivering excellent customer service and upholding superior merchandising criteria within the Center Store (Grocery) Department. Your responsibilities will include optimizing sales and reducing losses by effectively managing inventory and following corporate guidelines.

• Sustain high levels of customer engagement through the provision of speedy, amiable, and precise assistance.
• Show respect and kindness towards your colleagues.
• Maintain appropriate levels of Specialty Merchandising Associate products in accordance with established procedures, overseeing inventory in the storage area and on shelves.
• Adhere to the specified shelf assignments as detailed in the plan-o-grams.
• Make sure to promptly replenish new products and labels within seven days of delivery, adhering to plan-o-grams for positioning.
• Follow company guidelines to oversee the process of ordering, receiving, preparing, conditioning, and presenting merchandise.
• Utilize corporate resources like the average cost inventory system (ACIS) and procurement system (CAO) for operational efficiency.
• Adhere to regulations for food safety and workplace safety; monitor and address any hazardous situations.
• Adhere to Food Lion protocols when reporting any incidents involving associates or customers.
• Follow the guidelines of the Food Lion uniform policy and abide by the specified dress code requirements.
• Fulfill the mandatory computer-based and alternative training programs.
• Execute any extra tasks designated.

Required Skills and Experience of Merchandising Associate:

• A high school diploma or its equivalent is preferred.
• Outstanding abilities in interacting with others, coordinating tasks, conveying messages effectively, and assisting customers.
• Capacity and readiness to acquire various skills and meet technical job demands.
• Employing technical data for efficient troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• The role requires individuals to satisfy the specified age criteria.
• Able to fulfill physical demands with or without necessary adjustments.
• Skilled in utilizing computer and communication technology required for tasks at work.

Preferred Qualifications of Merchandising Associate:

• Proficiency in utilizing inventory control software and overseeing operations within the grocery retail sector.
• Prior exposure to customer service or retail stocking roles.
