Meat Clerk

Job Summary:

Join the Fiesta Mart team as a Meat Clerk at our Houston Bellaire Blvd location! This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with food, serving customers with a friendly attitude, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and product presentation. The Meat Clerk plays an essential role in ensuring the meat department runs smoothly by assisting customers, stocking displays, and supporting the meat cutting team to deliver fresh, quality products.

Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their meat selections and special orders.
• Clean, stock, and rotate meat display cases and shelves to maintain product freshness and visual appeal.
• Collaborate with the Meat Cutter to understand cutting priorities and inventory needs.
• Follow all food safety and handling regulations, maintaining compliance with health and safety standards.
• Assist in the preparation and packaging of meat products as needed.
• Maintain department cleanliness and organization throughout the shift.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding inventory or customer requests.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines consistently.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in both Spanish and English.
• Competent in reading product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, and following written or verbal instructions.
• Strong customer service skills and a helpful attitude.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 60 pounds, standing, bending, and stooping for long periods.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, are preferred.
• Retail Management Certificate or experience in a grocery or meat department is a plus.
• Food Handler Card or equivalent certification is required.
