Job Summary of Meat Seafood Manager:

This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department, ensuring high-quality products and exceptional customer service. The individual will play a crucial role in maintaining inventory levels, implementing merchandising strategies, and training team members to achieve store goals while adhering to Weis Markets standards and safety protocols.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Meat Seafood Manager:

• Promote a positive customer experience by leading a team that is knowledgeable and friendly, addressing concerns and answering questions in a courteous manner.
• Manage meat department inventory, ensuring products are always stocked and fresh. Assist customers in selecting meat products, offering recommendations on cuts and cooking methods.
• Oversee department scheduling, training, and performance evaluations, while fostering an environment that promotes growth and development for associates.
• Maintain safety standards by ensuring that products are handled and stored according to Weis Markets and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with management to develop strategies that maximize sales and improve departmental efficiencies.
• Ensure all products are rotated according to FIFO (First In, First Out) guidelines and that the department is kept clean and organized.
• Help manage daily department operations, including receiving deliveries, stocking, and organizing backroom storage.
• Ensure that proper signage, pricing, and promotional materials are in place for all products.

Qualifications and Experience of Meat Seafood Manager:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, management, or food service is a plus.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a retail or grocery environment, preferably in a meat department.
• Strong understanding of inventory control, product handling, and merchandising.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures, including compliance with local and federal regulations.

Salary:

The hourly wage for this position starts at $21.00 and may increase based on experience and performance.
