The role of the Produce Department Assistant involves supporting the Produce Manager in effectively running and maintaining the profitability of the produce section.
Responsibilities of Produce Department Assistant:

- Assisting the department manager in overseeing profit margins, cost of goods sold (COGs), and overall departmental profitability by reducing losses and optimizing procurement practices.
- Managing and upholding the department's operations on a regular basis involves guaranteeing that the selection of produce is continuously replenished, vibrant, and well-stocked throughout each day.
- Ensuring the selection, enhancing the freshness, turning, and appropriately managing fruits and vegetables.
- Securing solely organic-certified fruits and vegetables through the procurement and delivery process.
- Verifying that all available items adhere to the company's set criteria.
- Following proper guidelines set by the health department and the company to sanitize and maintain cleanliness of tools and equipment.
- Following the prescribed guidelines, accepting incoming orders for produce in accordance with company protocols.

- This role involves restricted responsibilities as a manager on duty and is not designated as the primary manager on duty for the store.
Qualification of Produce Department Assistant:
- It is preferred to have a high school diploma, GED, or an equivalent qualification.
- Preference is given to candidates with one year of background in grocery, retail, or produce settings, with an added advantage for those with experience in natural foods.
- Preference for one year of supervisory experience.
