Main duties, key responsibilities, and essential functions:

• Exceed member expectations by addressing inquiries, proposing solutions, and handling personalized orders.
• Cut, weigh, and bundle deli items such as meats, cheeses, and prepared foods in individual portions for customers.
• Facilitate members in making informed choices by offering a variety of sample products.
• Conduct quality and freshness checks on received deli shipments.
• Organize, shift, and advertise deli items according to regulations that guarantee the safety and freshness of the products.
• Consistently monitor for obsolete items and comply with the proper disposal or salvage techniques.
• Keep deli equipment and work surfaces regularly sanitized and free from germs.
• Ensure the safe and correct operation of slicers, scales, and rotisserie ovens.
• Precision in scale systems is vital for accurate pricing and labeling to be upheld.
• Adhere strictly to BJ's policies and procedures, ensuring steadfast compliance.
• Perform supplementary responsibilities as required, including providing support in alternative departments if needed.
• Regular and predictable attendance is a core component of this role.

Qualifications:

• Ideal candidates will have previous experience in a deli or food service setting.
• Candidates who have operated slicers, scales, and related deli equipment in the past are preferred.
• Acquaintance with deli provisions and principles for maintaining food safety.
• Applicants must be of at least 18 years of age.

Environmental Job Conditions:

• Routine periods of being upright and mobile on hard surfaces.
