Responsibilities of Bakery Associate:

• Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
• The Bakery Associate is responsible for providing a high level of customer service and ensuring that Bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, always ensuring cleanliness of the Bakery department area
• As a Bakery Associate, you will maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves and products, keeping floors free of spills, removing hazardous debris from floor, and sweeping
• Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining the rotation of all bakery products and discarding outdated or spoiled items
• Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality

Qualifications of Bakery Associate:

• Must be over 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or its equivalent, along with 1-2 years of prior bakery experience, or a suitable blend of education and practical knowledge.
• Demonstrate consistency and trustworthiness by being willing to adapt to a variable work schedule, which may involve evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Display a sociable and amicable demeanor, maintaining a positive outlook and skillful engagement with our clientele.
• Possessing effective communication abilities and being able to follow instructions and engage in group settings are essential skills
• Demonstrate the capacity to handle incoming calls and process customized requests efficiently
• Carry out routine cleaning duties within the department, ensuring workspaces are thoroughly sanitized and organized, which includes cleaning various surfaces like tables, floors, walls, and refrigeration units.
• Utilize knives, scales, wrapping equipment, compactors, waste disposals, pallet jacks, and manual carts when necessary. Apply understanding of scales and measuring weights to precisely weigh and tag items.
• The job involves being able to remain standing for a maximum of 3 hours without a break, and a total of 8 hours per work shift. Additionally, candidates must be capable of lifting trays weighing up to 5 lbs. and transferring them vertically between heights of 7 to 64 inches for as long as 10 hours. They should also be able to move items both vertically and horizontally, weighing up to 40 lbs., between heights of 5 to 36 inches and distances of up to 36 feet for a maximum of 10 hours without the use of any mechanical aid.
• Comply with safety, health, and Weights and Measures guidelines when obtaining and keeping a Food Handlers license.
