Qualifications of Pharmacy Order Clerk:

• Being 18 years old or older is mandatory, as well as holding the essential state licensing or certifications.
• The skill to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and grasp the English language is essential.
• Skill in conducting elementary mathematical computations.
• Capability to stay standing and ambulatory for the entirety of a set work shift.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift 50 lbs.
• Competence to perform well in varying thermal settings.
• Proficiency in enduring exposure to dust and chemicals when conducting standard housekeeping activities.
• Ability to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way. Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Demonstrating the ability to work during designated shifts and follow regulations concerning punctuality and attendance.
• Proficiency in the utilization of all required computer hardware and software is vital. Availability for overtime duties is necessary. Safeguarding the confidentiality of information is paramount.

Responsibilities of Pharmacy Order Clerk:

• Meeting the essential job requirements is crucial for the Associate to perform the necessary functions of this role.
• Offer a friendly welcome to all customers and supply them with swift, polite service and guidance.
• Ensure the precise billing of prescription medications.
• Promptly and accurately handle payment transactions and provide correct change. Adhere to the regulations imposed by the State Board of Pharmacy, HIPAA, the Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Food and Drug Administration to uphold State and Federal drug laws.
• Maintain the security standards within the Pharmacy Department.
• Uphold the principles of professionalism and confidentiality when addressing patients and safeguarding their health records.
• Respond to phone calls in a helpful and timely manner. Record prescription details from patients or clients and confirm critical information such as their name, location, phone number, date of birth, sensitivities, and insurance data as part of the verification process.
• Arrange and refill pharmaceuticals under the Pharmacist's direction. Aid customers in finding non-prescription items in stock. Be well-informed about the products available in the Department.
• Fulfill the HIPAA Privacy and Security training modules and become knowledgeable in operating digital processing devices proficiently while discerning among different types of images and relevant merchandise.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment by cleaning and disinfecting work surfaces, tools, and equipment in line with the Sanitation and QA guidelines.
• Keep the floor tidy and prevent any litter or liquid spillages.
• Abide by the directives laid out in the Company's HAZCOM program and strictly adhere to the manufacturer's labeled instructions for the appropriate and safe utilization of all chemical substances.
• Abide by department requirements for equipment usage and upkeep; promptly report any equipment malfunctions.
• Consistently handle, push, pull, and rotate merchandise weighing 25 lbs., with occasional weights of up to 50 lbs.
• Stand at work station for duration of scheduled shift, which may exceed 8 hours per day.
• Familiarize yourself with store costs and merchandise arrangements. Publicize charitable endeavors to Customers. Comprehend and stick to Company protocols on diminishing shrinkage in departmental procedures.
• Execute all tasks pursuant to the Pharmacy operation guidelines stipulated by Local, State, and Federal regulations, and adhere to Company rules, safety prerequisites, security benchmarks, and health and civil code regulations across different levels of governance. Finish all applicable departmental training regimes.
• Complete tasks following the established ShopRite Service Priorities of Safety, Friendliness, Presentation, and Efficiency.
• Cooperate with others in a professional manner. Fulfill any other duties that are delegated.
