Role and Responsibilities of Retail Maintenance Associate:

Within the capacity of a Retail Maintenance Associate, your main objective is to ensure the store environment remains clean, safe, and engaging, while also minimizing shrink and complying with Food Lion standards. These efforts are critical in fostering customer satisfaction and operational quality.

• Encourage a lively customer-centric vibe by prioritizing fast, approachable, and accurate assistance.
• Help your fellow associates in a courteous and supportive manner.
• Ensure floors are swept and cleaned during evenings without vendor servicing.
• Complete weekly cleaning duties in the Produce, Market, and Deli areas.
• Put in order and clean the store mopping station.
• Opting for efficient task execution techniques can bring about cost savings and productivity improvements.
• Consistently follow the daily checklist for quality assurance and sanitation standards.
• Comply with accepted industry standards for the cleanup of hazardous substances.
• Abide by the policies, guidelines, and established practices expected by Food Lion.
• Uphold the established protocols and procedures to guarantee safety in both food handling and workplace environments.
• In the event of identifying unsafe conditions, promptly inform the Manager on Duty and ensure necessary corrections are made.
• Stay in alignment with the regulations from local, state, and federal jurisdictions to remain compliant.
• Ensure a tidy and polished appearance by wearing the Food Lion uniform and keeping your name badge visible at all times.
• Succeed in the execution of Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packets, and Training Aids.
• Accomplish all other tasks as mandated.

Required Skills and Experience of Retail Maintenance Associate:

• Applicants who have graduated from high school or its equal level are preferred.
• Exhibiting excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service competencies.
• Displaying the potential and willingness to understand multiple duties and technical aspects of the job.
• Aptitude for using technical knowledge to overcome challenges.
• Satisfying the minimum age criteria is vital for executing specific duties within a job.
• Being equipped to meet the physical standards of the role, with or without necessary accommodations.

Physical Requirements of Retail Maintenance Associate:

• Proficiency in computer operations and other communication tools is a must for job execution.
• Do repetitive gestures with hands and arms.
• Continuously perform bending maneuvers and elevate objects up to 15 lbs, with frequent lifting of 25 lbs, and occasional lifting of 50 lbs.
• Move loads of up to 75 lbs occasionally by pushing or pulling.
• Consistently stand while making time for regular walks.
• Maintain the inventory of cleaning and packaging materials, as well as a choice of fresh fruits and vegetables, potted plants, and home cleaning supplies.
• Use hands for the purpose of managing money and operating registers, lottery machines, scanners, and calculators.
• Repetitive reaching and gripping typically at the waist level, occasionally extending above or below.
• Conform to the designated levels of volume and work pace.
• Tackle tasks in harshly hot or cold surroundings for up to 20 minutes consecutively.
• Confirm the authenticity of identification, checks, invoices, and other paperwork through adequate visual acumen.
