Role and Responsibilities:
The Meat Cutter is responsible for increasing customer confidence and loyalty by providing courteous and prompt service, consistent operating conditions, and a friendly atmosphere. Key responsibilities include:
Provide continuous attention to customer needs by greeting, assisting, and thanking customers in a prompt, courteous, and friendly manner.
Prepare and package food products while processing customer orders to specifications.
Process fresh meats, smoked meats, seafood, random weight items, lunchmeat, frozen food, and salted meats according to production standards.
Receive and break down meat deliveries.
Utilize peak time performance cutting lists to cut and trim products per company standards.
Wrap, weigh, and price products accurately as needed.
Properly cube, slice, and grind meat as required.
Comply with local, state, and government weights and measures laws, sanitation standards, grinding logs, and Country of Origin Labeling requirements.
Adhere to safety standards while working with power equipment.
Offer product suggestions to customers when appropriate.
Stock and rotate department products to ensure freshness and date control.
Use supply items efficiently to reduce waste and maintain low supply costs.
Operate department equipment and tools safely and correctly.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area, reporting faulty equipment or hazards to management.
Notify management of theft, shoplifting, unauthorized mark-downs, property defacement, or any illegal actions.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
Authorization to work in the United States.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
