Job Summary of Stock Receiving Clerk:
The Stock Receiving Clerk aids the Receiving Manager in overseeing the receiving department's daily activities. This role encompasses tasks like receiving, inspecting, and arranging incoming shipments. The Stock Receiving Clerk must ensure that products are diligently tallied, correctly tagged, and placed in assigned locations in compliance with the company's standards.
Responsibilities of Stock Receiving Clerk:

- Assisting the receiving department manager in ensuring the proper receipt of all incoming items by checking dates, confirming accuracy, and assessing for any damage.
- Auditing all products coming in and going out.
- Methodically preparing products for prompt delivery and display in the retail environment.
- Timely and accurate execution of tasks related to purchase orders, return purchase orders, mispicked items, invoices, and documentation.
- Checking and rectifying any inconsistencies detected.
- Conversing with department managers to relay information on delivery complications and vendor stock inadequacies.
- Following through with exclusive orders that were made.
- Handling forklift and pallet jack operations as demanded.
- Ensuring the back room remains clean and systematically arranged is crucial.
- Assisting department managers in handling performance challenges within their respective departments.
- Assisting with the initiation and conclusion of store operations, which involves tasks such as generating the Daily Sales Report (DSR) and managing cash transactions, as well as overseeing the cashier closeout duties.
- Managing register tasks that involve acting as an additional cashier when required, handling customer returns and exchanges, addressing and resolving customer concerns, and filling in for register staff during scheduled breaks or shift changes.
- Upholding the safety and security standards for customers as well as employees.
- Aiding in the training and observation of department staff members by assigning tasks and providing feedback.
- Stepping up to provide extra help and support in the store, and offering store backup on the sales floor post receiving duties.
- Addressing customer concerns based on established company protocols, which may involve using Structure/Function statements or statements related to the product's nutritional support to provide comprehensive information.
- Persistently broadening product comprehension.
- Utilizing SAP and inventory management software for managing inventory efficiently, as well as utilizing email communication and other IS programs when needed.
- The job necessitates working a schedule based on the store's needs, potentially including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Employees must work a full-time schedule of 40 hours over five days per week, as well as participate in required store meetings.
- This position is not designated to be the sole manager on duty but rather to handle certain managerial responsibilities.
Qualifications of Stock Receiving Clerk:
- Candidates with a High School diploma, GED, or a related qualification are preferred.
- Applicants are encouraged to have experience in a grocery or retail setting, particularly in receiving, for at least one year, with a preference for those familiar with natural foods.
- A year of experience in a supervisory role is advantageous.
- Obtaining forklift certification allows individuals to demonstrate their competence in operating a forklift.
- Capacity to pass required food safety training sessions and certifications, and staying compliant with the necessary registration and renewal processes.
- Being able to effectively handle shifting priorities and maintain concentration on the current task is essential.
- Complete tasks promptly and with a strong sense of urgency.
- Show mastery in providing top-notch customer assistance.
- Known for their meticulousness and excellent organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in heeding instructions and finishing assignments.
