Job Summary:

The Dairy/Frozen Assistant supports the Dairy/Frozen Manager in overseeing the efficient performance and financial success of the Dairy/Frozen department. Tasks of the Dairy/Frozen Assistant comprise restocking, rotating, and supervising products in the dairy and frozen sections to ensure freshness, availability, and visual appeal. This position involves duties such as unloading deliveries, verifying expiration dates, arranging exhibits, and ensuring precise pricing and labeling.

Responsibilities:

• Putting a strong emphasis on providing top-notch customer service as the main goal.

• Collaborating with the department manager to order supplies for the dairy and frozen sections and uphold accurate inventory management.

• Checking to guarantee that all products in inventory meet the prescribed company standards.
• Processing custom orders and conducting subsequent updates.
• Incorporating merchandising shelving, endcap solutions, and dynamic exhibit designs.
• Supporting in managing and engaging in labeling, presenting, repositioning, tidying, discounting, replenishing, stocking, and storing surplus goods.
• Ensuring the training and task assignments of department personnel are followed through and completed effectively.
• Engaging in active demos means encouraging audience interaction, while passive demos involve a more observational approach.
• Cooperating with department heads to manage performance problems within the department.
• - Supporting the activities related to the initiation and conclusion of store operations, such as maintaining the Daily Sales Report (DSR) and handling cash transactions, as well as executing cashier closeout duties.
• Duties encompassed in register functions include overseeing backup cashiers, processing returns for customers, managing customer complaints, and handling changes in register shifts, such as covering scheduled breaks.
• Maintaining a secure environment for customers and employees.
• Giving answers to customer queries in line with company policies, including the use of health-conscious statements or endorsements of nutritional benefits.
• Consistently broadening knowledge about different products.
• Integrating the use of SAP and inventory management software, along with email correspondence and other IS tools as needed.
• The position necessitates being available as per the store's schedule, which involves working evenings, weekends, and holidays. The role entails committing to a 40-hour workweek across five days and participating in mandatory store meetings.
• This role involves specific tasks related to being a manager on duty but does not encompass overall managerial duties for the store.

Qualification:

• Candidates with a high school diploma, GED, or similar credential are preferred.
• Previous experience working in a retail or grocery store is preferred, and candidates with exposure to natural foods will be given extra consideration.
• Prior supervisory experience of one year is recommended.
• Successfully fulfilling the requisite food safety training requirements and certifications as stipulated by law and staying in compliance by renewing certifications and ensuring proper registration when required.

Physical requirements:
