Role and Responsibilities:

As a Kitchen Staff member, you will prepare high-quality food items for cold cases, fresh packs, salad bars, and hot bars while maintaining presentation and sanitation standards. You will ensure consistency, freshness, and excellent customer service in alignment with Whole Foods Market's values and food safety standards.

• Use production sheets and recipes as guidelines to craft food items for cold showcases, fresh packs, salad displays, and hot bar offerings.
• Guarantee quality and freshness of prepared items through labeling, dating, covering, monitoring, and rotation.
• Monitor food levels and replenish items in a timely manner.
• Be punctual, appropriately groomed, and ready for scheduled shifts; attend all required training sessions and meetings.
• Provide excellent customer support, promptly respond to customer demands, and model effective cross-selling methods.
• Drive sales growth by ensuring products are prepped, stored, rotated, restocked, and displayed effectively.
• Comply with established procedures for Weights and Measures, sanitation standards, and safe work practices.
• Maintain a clean and orderly working and retail environment; ensure appliances, storage spaces, and cooling units meet cleanliness standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing tasks while ensuring accurate signage and pricing.
• Report safety issues and non-compliance promptly.
• Undertake additional duties as required by supervisors at the store, regional, or national levels.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Extensive product knowledge and proficiency in following recipes accurately.
• Familiarity with food preparation and basic culinary practices.
• Arithmetic skills applicable to cooking techniques and portion control.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to work collaboratively.
• Ability to interact clearly and respectfully with team members, customers, and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 to 12 months of retail experience.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly rates range from $16.50 to $30.20, based on skill level and a standard 40-hour workweek.
