Role and Responsibilities:
As a Grocery Clerk, you will play a key role in ensuring an organized, well-stocked, and clean grocery department that enhances the overall shopping experience. Your responsibilities include:
Unload deliveries and transport merchandise to designated storage areas.
Stock shelves according to store planograms to maintain accurate product placement.
Rotate inventory using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
Label products accurately with prices and ensure all signage is clearly visible.
Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing displays for customers.
Track inventory levels and alert management when restocking is required.
Perform inventory checks and manage backstock efficiently.
Remove damaged, expired, or recalled products promptly.
Provide assistance and product information to customers as needed.
Keep aisles clear and ensure a safe shopping environment.
Stay informed about store promotions, seasonal products, and inventory updates.
Clean and sanitize shelves, displays, and storage areas regularly.
Follow all safety guidelines, including proper lifting and equipment usage.
Report hazards or equipment malfunctions to management immediately.
Collaborate with team members to support smooth store operations.
Communicate effectively with managers regarding stock and operational needs.
Required Skills and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in retail, grocery, or stocking preferred but not required.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and within a team.
Basic math skills for product labeling and inventory tracking.
Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Attention to detail and efficiency in a fast-paced work environment.
