Responsibilities of Food Service Assistant:
- Safeguards the hygiene of food service countertops, storage locations, and workspace to ensure a secure setting; this entails sanitizing shelves and products, preventing floors from containing any liquid spills or accumulated water, and clearing away any potentially harmful debris on the floor by sweeping it.
- Sets up food service showcases according to the schematics provided by the Food Service Department, focusing on proper item placement and pricing precision.
- Reviews the regular rotation of all food service items, with a key emphasis on recognizing expired stock and removing items that are outdated or spoiled.
- Handles customer inquiries effectively and supports customers in their shopping needs, offering guidance and assistance in choosing products; involves the promotion of related products.
- Checks, assesses, and registers goods to confirm the correctness of shipping, climate control, and standard.
- Oversees the promotional signage at the checkout, guaranteeing a range of recipe cards, product coupons, marketing materials, and information on accompanying food items.
- Involves the use of various tools including knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, waste disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Gets ready a variety of food service items by choosing the suitable components and observing the correct cooking periods for the specific product.
- Applies knowledge of scales and measures of weight to correctly weigh and identify products.
- Involvement in pre-inventory readiness, encompassing managing backroom inventory and confirming tag accuracy with products.
