As a Distribution Center Receiver, your role is pivotal in maintaining standards of accuracy, security, and efficiency in the receiving procedures that facilitate the smooth flow of goods through the supply chain.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Manage responsibilities related to receiving and storing products, such as unloading deliveries, verifying with RF scanners, arranging items in designated spaces, overseeing cross-dock activities, and selecting flow-through inventory.
- Arrive at the workstation on time, dressed appropriately, and ready for all scheduled shifts.
- Follow OSHA and Whole Foods policies when using a powered pallet jack or forklift.
- Foster a work atmosphere that prioritizes cleanliness, safety, and organization.
- Adhere strictly to the safety policies set by OSHA and the facility.
- Inform the Team Leader or Facility Leadership immediately of any accidents or injuries.
- Handle unloading tasks for truck shipments, validate information against the bill of lading, input into the warehouse management system, and set up for storage staging.
- Assess inbound products to verify compliance with food safety regulations.
- Accurately tag items for putaway after verification.
- Perform storage tasks as needed and maintain all related equipment.
- Ensure precise handling of receiving, staging, and selecting goods as they move through the system.
- Stage all cross-dock items accurately upon arrival.
- Maintain clear and organized receiving areas for products, recyclables, and waste.
- Load reusable materials and other products onto trucks for shipping.
- Execute all inbound paperwork accurately.
- Attend all team and facility meetings as required.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Ability to perform the physical tasks required for the role.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in safely and efficiently operating all required equipment.
- Commitment to meeting customer service expectations with vendors, customers, and team members.
- Ability to complete tasks thoroughly, accurately, and on time.
- Understanding of quality objectives and deep product knowledge related to WFM operations.
- Demonstrated responsibility and ownership in completing tasks.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of experience in all aspects of receiving operations.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly pay ranges from $22.00 to $39.60, depending on experience.
- Benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, store discounts, paid leave, and participation in additional benefit programs.
- Eligibility for Full Benefits is based on the plan in effect at the time of hire.
