Job Summary of Deli Associate:

A Deli Associate's primary duty is to assist customers in a polite manner and fulfill their orders accurately. They are tasked with delivering outstanding customer support, as well as slicing, packaging, and arranging deli items like meats, cheeses, and salads. The position also requires the upkeep of a hygienic workspace, adherence to food safety regulations, and the guarantee of fresh, well-marked, and visually appealing products.

Responsibilities of Deli Associate:

• Slice, cut, weigh, and price merchandise in a courteous manner.
• Prepare orders to customers satisfaction.
• Unload deli merchandise and transport stock to storage areas.
• Maintain shelves and keep cases filled at all times.
• Control freshness by coding and rotating all products and remove out-of-code merchandise daily.
• Price all products legibly and according to price book.
• Maintain new items and weekly specials.
• Promote new items and weekly specials.
• Communicate temperature failure of cases and storage areas to manager in charge.
• Observe policies and procedures established for the department.
• Greet all customers and be observant.
• Abide by all company policies as stated in the Employee Handbook.
• Adhere to a consistent cleaning and disinfection schedule to meet the requirements set forth by the store, as well as the health regulations at the local and state levels.
• Aid in the cooking of warm dishes and all additional food items.

Qualifications of Deli Associate:

• Effective communication abilities are essential when interacting with clients.
• Proficiency in fundamental mathematical concepts is necessary for measuring and valuing merchandise.
• Proficient hand coordination is essential for effectively cutting and preparing various deli items.
• Must have the capability to raise objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds around twenty percent (20%) of the time.
