Leading the retail store, the Store Assistant Manager is tasked with upholding the operational benchmarks established by both the company and store manager. Ensuring that all team members adhere to company protocols, as well as local, state, and national regulations, is also a key duty of the Store Assistant Manager.
Responsibilities of Store Assistant Manager:
- Offer guidance, mentoring, and growth opportunities to store staff regarding their responsibilities, tasks, role expectations, and performance benchmarks
- Establish a secure and welcoming in-store atmosphere that prioritizes the well-being and satisfaction of both staff and patrons
- Aids the store manager in developing the weekly roster for staff members
- Manages the store in the absence of the store manager by overseeing opening and closing procedures
- Oversees and/or organizes the upkeep of buildings
- Demonstrates a sincere commitment to the progress, advancement, and triumph of team members by offering thorough training, coaching, mentoring, and growth opportunities while assisting the Store Manager with necessary disciplinary measures when needed
- Consistently and efficiently relay information to all parties involved, such as store staff, store supervisors, and regional supervisors
- Ensures the store operates in adherence to the company's operational guidelines, aiming to increase sales, profitability, and provide exceptional customer shopping experiences
- Offers guidance that leads to outstanding everyday store conditions which encompass all necessary daily operations in produce, meat, and center store departments in strict accordance with the company's operational guidelines. Ensures the daily implementation of Food Safety measures, adherence to safety protocols, including handling power equipment, and guarantees the maintenance of high sanitation standards on a daily basis
- In charge of crucial measurements of store functions, such as revenue, number of clients, efficiency of workforce, and loss prevention
- Interprets, comprehends, and applies operational and financial information to make sound business choices while overseeing the store's operations either independently or in collaboration with the store manager
- In charge of carrying out the merchandising program effectively, including plan-o-grams, showcasing items, pricing indicators, shelf labels, and customer loyalty initiatives
- Ensures that customers receive a top-quality shopping experience, characterized by a well-maintained, welcoming, and hygienic environment
- Maintains optimal inventory levels according to the store's specified criteria in order to uphold quality, freshness, and efficient rotation methods that align with the company's expectations
- Responsible for ensuring high-quality perishable product selection and supervision, such as maintaining inventory levels, ensuring product availability, meeting freshness criteria in all perishable sections, and minimizing loss due to spoilage
- Responsible for analyzing sales figures and patterns to ensure accurate purchasing and stock management protocols
- Accountable for executing and adhering to all guidelines and protocols, encompassing accounting methods, handling of finances, inventory management, security measures, managing payroll, hygiene standards, food safety, record-keeping, policy breaches, paperwork, and related tasks.
- Obtains certification in food safety as outlined by the company's guidelines and local regulations
- Offers continuous assistance to the manager of the store
- Carries out additional tasks as required
Qualification of Store Assistant Manager:
- Individuals must be at least 18 years old to participate
- Having a high school diploma or its equivalent is necessary
- A fundamental encounter with electronic technology and communications is essential in today's digital age
- At least two years of experience in a management role is required
- Previous experience overseeing teams and managing others, as well as a background in organizing schedules, displaying merchandise, and handling financial planning and cost management is desired
- Preference is given to individuals with a background in leadership and/or management education
