Job Summary of Store Crew Manager:
The Store Crew Manager is responsible for the effective and profitable management of the store, including the training and supervision of department employees.
Responsibilities of Store Crew Manager:

- Special orders are addressed correctly and per the guidelines set by the company.
- Meets company expectations for phone answering procedures and devotes at least 75% of their time to being present on the sales floor, assisting customers, overseeing staff, and attending to various departments.
- Coaching staff on the provision of exceptional customer care and implementing mechanisms to hold them answerable for their service quality.
- Verifying that the staff complies with the applicable state and county certifications and registration for food safety.
- The Store Crew Manager is responsible for ensuring that the store is meeting and/or exceeding expectations in the following areas:
- Sales ratios of stores and departments compared to labor hours allocated
- Typical Ticket Value, Quantity of Customers, and Expenditure on Sold Goods within Produce Sales
- EBITDA
- Checks that products are ordered from the right suppliers to qualify for discounts and safeguard profit margins.
- Guarantees that inventory availability meets the requirements set by the company
- Tracking the array of products available, such as:
- Continuous examination of departments to uphold best-selling items and phase out products that are not performing well
- New products are regularly incorporated in accordance with company guidelines.
- Maintains company standards by properly rotating and stocking perishable items.
- Markdowns are governed based on the company's internal standards.
- Entrusted with supporting the Store Manager in the process of recruiting, educating, and overseeing all store staff following company policies.
- Trains workforce, delegates responsibilities, and ensures task achievement.
- Ensures the accuracy and completeness of master and daily schedules to fulfill the store requirements. Manages timely posting of schedules and delegation of daily tasks based on company task sheets.
- Collaborates with managers from different departments to allocate staff members for daily tasks.
- Guides and monitors the staff to cultivate a comprehensive store image and support customers in every facet.
- Assists department managers in training staff across different departments to achieve a wide range of tasks.
- Partners with staff to ensure adequate product knowledge to meet customers' needs, training staff on where to find answers to customer questions by utilizing store resources.
- Aids the Store Manager in finalizing and executing performance assessments for all store personnel with the participation of department supervisors. Assists in approving salary raises when deemed fitting.
- Conducts interviews and makes hiring decisions based on input from various department heads to meet the staffing requirements of the store.
- Manages all performance and disciplinary matters effectively, working alongside Human Resources for guidance and assistance.
- Engages in open and concise communication with store personnel, including assisting in the coordination of monthly staff assemblies and disseminating relevant corporate updates.
- Responsible for making sure safety guidelines are followed without exception.
- Makes certain that all necessary edits to Ulti-time are conducted without delay.
- In charge of assisting the Store Manager in educating, guiding, and fostering the development of store staff.
- Employees are encouraged to enhance their familiarity with nutrition and product information.
- Following company policies, he/she and store staff address customer questions with the use of Structure/Function statements and information on nutritional aid.
- Handles operational responsibilities adeptly, including managing daily schedules, checklists, and opening and closing tasks.
- Verifies the timely completion of store paperwork and reports, particularly the Monthly Manager's Report.
- Effectively manages the DSR and Manager's Cash duties, ensuring accuracy.
- Covers department manager calls during shifts and helps coordinate breaks and lunch coverage.
- Coping with disruptions to regular business activities, including managing loitering individuals, addressing solicitation issues, responding to unexpected weather circumstances, and ensuring proper restroom behavior.
- Works hours as required by the store, including evenings and weekends, with a weekly schedule totaling 45 hours.
- Assists staff in understanding how to endorse decisions made by the home office, listens carefully to instructions from the central office, and performs assigned tasks accurately.
- Processes and conforms to notifications (memos, facsimiles, emails) from the corporate headquarters while working from home.
- Stays open to adjusting to shifting work needs to meet targets.
- It is a common expectation for managers to lead by example in the workplace, showcasing the level of excellence needed in job tasks and professional conduct.
Qualification of Store Crew Manager:
- High school diploma or GED required 1-2 years management experience in grocery and/or related retail experience, natural foods industry a plus.
- Able to navigate varying priorities strategically.
- Meeting state and county legal obligations by successfully completing relevant food safety training programs and passing corresponding assessments to obtain the necessary certifications.
- It is mandatory to be certified in forklift operation.
- Maintain compliance by keeping your food safety certifications current through continuing education and registering with the appropriate agency if necessary.
- Shows a great deal of urgency in completing tasks and is highly skilled in organization.
- Displays superior customer service skills.
- Skill in following through on given directions effectively.
- Must be equipped with proper cashier handling knowledge.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook needed.
