Health and Beauty Care Clerk

Role and Responsibilities:

The Health and Beauty Care (HBC) Clerk plays a key role in maintaining the health, beauty, and personal care section of the store. You will stock, organize, and assist customers with their HBC product needs while ensuring a positive shopping experience.

• Stock and replenish health and beauty care products on the shelves according to store standards.
• Ensure products are properly labeled, facing forward, and visually appealing.
• Check inventory levels and communicate shortages or stock issues to the department supervisor.
• Rotate stock using the "first in, first out" method to maintain product freshness.
• Greet and assist customers in the Health and Beauty Care aisle, providing guidance on product selection and availability.
• Answer customer questions regarding products, promotions, and store policies professionally.
• Help customers locate items and offer suggestions based on their needs.
• Provide product knowledge and educate customers on features, benefits, and proper usage.
• Assist in setting up promotional displays and seasonal end caps for new or on-sale products.
• Maintain proper signage and labeling for sales promotions, discounts, and new items.
• Keep the Health and Beauty Care section clean, organized, and clutter-free.
• Receive and unload HBC deliveries, perform regular inventory checks, and assist with stock counts during audits.
• Report damaged or expired products and ensure their removal from the sales floor.
• Collaborate with team members and department managers to ensure smooth department operations.
• Assist in training new employees and share best practices for HBC department management.
• Follow all company policies, safety protocols, and quality standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Prior retail or customer service experience, especially in health and beauty, pharmacy, or grocery settings preferred.
• Experience with consumer products, including health and beauty care, is a plus.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with diverse customers.
• Ability to organize and stock products efficiently while maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
• Attention to detail to ensure products are correctly labeled, stocked, and displayed.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods, bend, kneel, and reach to stock shelves.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of health and beauty care products and trends.
• Ability to operate basic retail technology such as registers, scanners, and inventory systems.
• Familiarity with merchandising and product display techniques.
