Bakery Assistant

Job Summary of Bakery Assistant:

Assisting in the smooth running and management of the Bakery Department. A Bakery Assistant ensures customers receive excellent service and helps with the operational tasks involved in running the bakery section each day. Duties encompass the preparation, labeling, and restocking of a variety of baked items like bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies.

Responsibilities of Bakery Assistant:

• Ensure shelves are well-maintained and properly stocked.
• Implement a system of product coding to ensure freshness is upheld and consistently monitor inventory to promptly eliminate expired items each day.
• Properly enclose, prepare, and assign prices to all merchandise in a clear and readable manner.
• Follow the established cleanliness and sanitation protocols as mandated by company policies.
• Uphold strong customer connections by offering swift and respectful service.
• Extend a courteous greeting to all clients and stay aware of your surroundings.
• Comply with the guidelines established in the company policies within the provided handbook.
• Handle incoming calls and cater to unique orders.
• Offer assistance in the process of baking various products.
• Support customers in selecting a cake by assisting with their order.
• Help with the reception and correct storage of merchandise upon arrival.

Qualifications of Bakery Assistant:

• Must have strong communication skills to provide adequate customer service.
• Must have dexterity in hands to wrap and package products.
• Must be able to read and write to properly tag and price the products.
• Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds as needed.
