Role and Responsibilities:
As a Meat Team Member, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality and safe meat products to customers while following Whole Foods Market's established guidelines.
Maintain attractive displays, check merchandise quality, clean and stock shelves and cases, rotate products to prevent expiration, remove outdated items, and keep ice tables stocked.
Ensure surplus stock is organized and stored properly.
Assist in the upkeep and presentation of sample areas to keep them visually appealing and stocked.
Maintain cleanliness of cases, glass fixtures, signs, refrigeration units, smoking areas, floors, and drains as needed.
Arrive promptly, wear proper attire, and maintain a groomed appearance for all shifts, trainings, and meetings.
Provide excellent customer service, promptly address customer needs, and demonstrate effective sales techniques; courteously handle phone calls and announcements.
Increase sales by following best practices in preparation, storage, rotation, display, and promotion of merchandise.
Follow approved guidelines such as Weights and Measures, sanitation protocols, and safe work practices.
Promote a sanitary workplace and sales floor by following Whole Foods Market standards for cleanliness and safety, including equipment upkeep.
Perform assigned opening, mid-day, and closing duties; ensure signage and pricing are accurate.
Report any hazards or safety violations immediately.
Complete other tasks as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Ability to sell products and provide excellent customer service.
Knowledge of the department's full product selection.
Skill in visually assessing product quality and freshness.
Ability to read and interpret labels across a variety of products.
Assist with scheduled inventory counts.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous retail experience is not required.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Stand or walk for 6 8 hours per shift.
Use hands for gripping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
Perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching as needed.
Work with FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
Perform duties in environments up to 90°F as well as wet or cold areas.
Safely use knives and other cutting tools.
Operate equipment such as cardboard cutters and motorized pallet jacks.
Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly pay ranges from $17.00 to $25.40 based on experience.

Entry-level Team Members who successfully complete their first 90 days may be eligible for a base pay increase.
