Job Summary of Dairy Team Member:

In the role of a Dairy Team Member, your core duties encompass providing customers with an exceptional experience by managing the pricing, stocking, and rotation of products in the Dairy Department. Maintaining a clean, organized, and secure workspace is also essential, along with ensuring the freshness, correct labeling, and appealing display of all items. Additionally, you will be expected to offer support to customers, respond to inquiries, and deliver efficient and friendly service while adhering to company regulations, safety protocols, and sanitation standards, and carrying out other tasks that may be assigned to facilitate departmental operations.

Responsibilities of Dairy Team Member:

  • Ensure the workspace is orderly, clean, and secure for all employees.
  • Adhere to the Department of Sanitation and QA requirements when sanitizing workspaces, utensils, and devices.
  • Maintain a clean and unobstructed floor surface.
  • Consistently lift, drag, thrust, and twist goods that are 25 lbs., with intermittent tasks requiring goods of 50 lbs.
  • Assist in unloading trucks and transporting products to the Dairy Department, handling items that usually weigh 25 pounds but can occasionally be as heavy as 50 pounds.
  • Remain at an assigned location to carry out tasks during the allocated work hours that might go beyond 8 hours daily.
  • Adhere to the Dairy operation guidelines set forth by Local, State, and Federal legislation.
  • Follow the company's regulations on how to dress and present yourself, which may involve wearing the specified uniform, displaying a name tag, and using a hat or hair accessory as needed.
  • Follow the established QA protocols for hand hygiene and don protective disposable gloves when working with food.
  • Ensure completion of all department-specific training programs.
  • Extend greetings to every client and deliver quick, respectful aid.
  • Provide help to the Dairy Manager as requested.
  • Employ approved methods of pricing items correctly and neatly with the help of designated price marking equipment.
  • Ensure that discounted products are visibly marked to boost sales.
  • Ensure the precise recording of adjustments in pricing, the consumption of goods on-site, and the disposal of defective or expired inventory in compliance with Company regulations.
  • Keep unit price labels accurate for every item and make adjustments to prices when needed.
  • Verify costs and have a good understanding of the placement of goods in the store.
  • Showcase available altruistic deals to attract potential buyers.
  • Ensure that deliveries correspond with invoicing paperwork and make use of the receiving log to store signed invoices in the designated area.
  • Properly organize and shift dairy items within cases, shelves, and relevant showcases in accordance with tag distribution and department protocols.
  • Utilize power or manual equipment such as u-boats, hand jacks, or carts to store and safeguard the received items in the proper chilled storage areas. Organize and position the products as per company guidelines or any provided directives.
  • Stay vigilant regarding the temperature and functioning of refrigerated storage spaces and display units; communicate any irregularities or faults promptly to the appropriate authority.
  • Having a deep understanding of the diverse kinds of dairy goods, from their tastes to how they are used or made, along with discrepancies in pricing, is crucial. The employment of CGO and the application of a handheld terminal are key tools for managing and replenishing stock effectively.
  • Keep up with the necessary communication protocols within the department and across the organization as prescribed.
  • Conduct all tasks following the Company's regulations, policies, safety protocols, and security standards, while also ensuring compliance with health and civil code regulations at the Local, State, and Federal levels.
  • Execute tasks in alignment with the Company's HAZCOM initiative and strictly follow the instructions provided on the labels of chemical products to guarantee their secure and appropriate application.
  • Fulfill all required training courses within the department.
  • Adhere to the ShopRite Service Priorities (Safety, Hospitality, Display, and Effectiveness) while completing responsibilities.
  • Follow the guidelines set by the Company to minimize shrink in the Dairy Department.
  • Make it a priority to be punctual and attend consistently.
  • Stay on the job beyond regular working hours when necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively with your teammates.
  • Fulfill any other responsibilities given.

Qualifications of Dairy Team Member:

  • Must be 18 years or older to operate balers, hi-lo's, power jacks, and slicing machines.
  • Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
  • Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures.
  • Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences.
  • Ability to climb a ladder to retrieve items from overhead racking and storage areas.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated coolers and high moisture rooms for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties.
  • Ability to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
