Role and Responsibilities of Front End Cashier:

In the position of a Front End Cashier, it is essential to provide customers at Food Lion with quick, precise, and friendly service in line with the company's service expectations. Working closely with the Customer Service Manager and Assistant Customer Service Manager is key to upholding consistent front-end practices that drive sales and customer happiness.

• Offer a warm reception to all customers by smiling and using their name when appropriate.
• Transfer the contents of the shopping carts onto the conveyor belt, arranging the items in a manner that simplifies bagging.
• Before proceeding with the purchase, take a moment to review the contents of the shopping cart and any accompanying baby seats for any missed items.
• Follow appropriate bagging procedures and scan through customer orders accordingly.
• Manage payment transactions in line with typical practices.
• Follow guidelines for cash control processes and carry out overrides as appropriate.
• Assist customers with their needs and offer takeout assistance.
• Stay on high alert and reach out for assistance to ensure adherence to service standards.
• Remove shopping carts from the parking lot and uphold cleanliness in designated areas.
• Comply with the requirements for attire and uniform protocols to present a tidy and formal image.
• Report any malfunctions or maintenance requests regarding the register to the proper management.
• Check that the MVP KIOSK is in working order and has an adequate paper supply.
• Ensure strict compliance with company policies, guidelines, and safety protocols.
• Ensure that QA is notified of any cleaning or maintenance needs and take action to fix any unsafe conditions that exist.
• Finish computer-oriented training modules and fulfill other allocated obligations.

Required Skills and Experience of Front End Cashier:

• Candidates with a high school diploma or its equal are preferred.
• The capacity to effectively communicate and provide top-tier customer service is crucial in the service industry.
• Aptitude and readiness to understand numerous tasks and technical specifications.
• Capable of meeting the demands of both cashier operations and technical service center requirements.
• It is essential to adhere to the minimum age conditions for the position.
• Demonstrating the ability to handle the physical aspects of the role, with or without accommodations as needed.
• Ability to use computers and communication systems required for job functions.
