Job Summary of Assistant Store Manager:

This position supports store operations by assisting in planning, organizing, and coordinating all aspects of daily functions. The role ensures growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction by maintaining high product quality, clean and safe facilities, accurate pricing, and excellent service. It also provides leadership and acts as manager on duty when required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Assistant Store Manager:

• Support the store manager in overseeing daily operations to ensure smooth workflows and profitability.
• Maintain quality standards by ensuring fresh products, proper housekeeping, and accurate pricing.
• Oversee stock levels and product variety to maximize customer choice and availability.
• Deliver outstanding customer service through prompt and courteous interactions.
• Monitor merchandising, cost control, and shrink management practices to support profit goals.
• Review weekly production and merchandising plans for perishable departments to ensure accuracy and profitability.
• Act as manager on duty by handling opening and closing procedures, enforcing policies, and creating a positive environment for employees and customers.

Qualifications and Experience of Assistant Store Manager:

• Associate degree or high school diploma required; completion of a management training program preferred.
• 3–5 years of progressive experience in the supermarket industry with leadership responsibilities.
• Knowledge of store management practices and food safety standards.
• Experience with POS systems, receiving, Kronos, and pallet jack certification.
• Strong skills in leadership, delegation, problem-solving, communication, and business insight.
• Ability to adapt to changing store needs and manage multiple priorities effectively.
