As part of our Retail Operations team, you will contribute to Food Lion's mission of delivering excellent customer service, maintaining operational standards, and maximizing sales while minimizing shrink.
Role and Responsibilities of Inventory Control Associate:
As a DSD Inventory Control Associate, you will ensure the proper receiving of Direct Store Delivery (DSD) products by following Food Lion policies and procedures. You will also help maintain compliance with company standards, enhance sales through excellent service, and protect company assets while minimizing shrink.
Create an enthusiastic customer-centric ambiance by delivering quick, welcoming, and precise support.
Be supportive and courteous when assisting other team members.
Safeguard company valuables through precise record-keeping and management of DSD product receipts and returns.
Follow the vendor receiving protocol established by Food Lion.
Liaise with suppliers to rectify errors, policy violations, or excessive stock.
Ensure the timely implementation of vendor promotions by communicating effectively with the Assistant Store Manager.
Ensure the smooth and efficient implementation of weekly merchandising notes.
Validate the accuracy of DSD plan-o-grams.
Keep track of daily and weekly DSD tickets, beer and wine invoices for administrative purposes.
Review EDI invoices to confirm that all outstanding invoices have been reconciled.
Execute the appropriate protocols for reclaiming items and addressing issues related to damages.
Manage cigarette carton inventory rotations as part of the Chief Administrative Officer responsibilities.
Streamline ordering processes with the help of ACIS (Average Cost Inventory System) and CAO inventory software.
Maintain adherence to the company's guidelines, policies, and recognized standards.
Prioritize the observance of guidelines for food safety and workplace safety, taking proactive measures to correct any unsafe conditions that may be present.
Comply with Food Lion standards by informing the Manager on Duty about accidents involving both associates and customers.
Follow the legal requirements set forth by local, state, and federal regulations to ensure adherence.
Comply with the guidelines by dressing in the Food Lion uniform and keeping a neat and professional demeanor, including wearing your name badge visibly.
Successfully fulfill the requirements of Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packets, and Training Aid courses.
Undertake any additional duties as required.
Required Skills and Experience of Inventory Control Associate:
Having a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred for this role.
Capable in interpersonal relations, organization, communication, and client service skills.
Talent and commitment to acquiring various skills and fulfilling technical job demands.
Improving problem-solving ability through the application of technical expertise.
The job role mandates meeting the prescribed age qualifications to execute the tasks effectively.
Capability to comply with the physical standards of the role, with or without necessary adaptations.
Physical Requirements of Inventory Control Associate:
Competent in utilizing computers and various communication systems vital for performing job responsibilities efficiently.
Carry out repeated hand and arm activities.
Continuously bend and hoist loads of up to 15 lbs., frequently handle 25 lbs., and occasionally manage 50 lbs. weights through lifting movements.
There may be occasions where lifting or dragging weights of up to 75 lbs. is required.
Keep on your feet and take frequent short walks.
Administer the use of substances related to the cleaning and maintenance of packaging materials, fruits, plants, and household cleansing agents.
Frequently deal with money and utilize devices including registers, lottery machines, scanners, computers, and calculators.
Perform frequent reaching and grasping at waist level; occasionally reach above shoulder/below waist.
Adhere to the productivity guidelines outlined for the job.
Perform work activities in highly hot or cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes as per the situation.
Ensure you have the required visual acuity to examine IDs, checks, invoices, and any other written materials effectively.
