• Working as a Retail Meat Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market offers you the chance to be part of a team that operates in a department widely favored by our customers
• In the role of a Retail Meat Clerk, it is vital to excel in customer service, adhere to safe food handling procedures, and demonstrate proficiency in product knowledge and preparation techniques.
• A hands on position, the Retail Meat Clerk receives, stores, and grinds meats; unloads and transports fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery truck; counts and weighs incoming articles and compares results against an invoice; and examines meats in storage and rotates meats to avoid aging.
• A Retail Meat Clerk is tasked with providing superior and friendly customer service, guiding customers through inquiries, special orders, and specific requirements while nurturing a positive work environment centered on the needs and satisfaction of customers.
• The Retail Meat Clerk is well-versed in the weekly ad promotions, aids customers in locating products in the store, and carries out the Clean as You Go and Fresh at 4 procedures.

Qualifications of Retail Meat Clerk:

• To be considered, candidates must meet the criteria of being 18 years or older, having a high school diploma or a comparable certificate, and demonstrating a basic familiarity with math, weights, and measures.
• Show consistency and trustworthiness in carrying out assigned obligations, and be prepared to handle additional responsibilities as instructed.
• Demonstrate a friendly and sociable behavior; show a constructive attitude and the capability to engage with our clients effectively.
• Possess the capability to handle a flexible work schedule that may vary in accordance with the business needs, including shifts during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Effective communication skills and the willingness to participate in team activities are essential
• Maintain overall cleanliness within the department; sanitize and declutter the work area (which includes tables, floors, partitions, display units, refrigerators, freezers, and so forth).
• Adhere to safety policies, health standards, accurate weighing practices, and the designated recipes of the company
• The role necessitates the ability to stand for a duration of up to 4 hours at a stretch and a total of 8 hours per shift, along with walking up to 2 miles during an 8-hour shift.
• Expected to perform tasks effectively in a controlled-temperature environment and carry out general cleaning activities within the department; sanitize and organize the workspace, covering surfaces like tables, floors, walls, refrigerators, and freezers.
• Clear eyesight is essential for operating sharp tools such as knives, band saws, grinders, sausage makers, box cutters, wrapping machines, and meat tenderizers.
• Possess the ability to lift and carry products of 25 to 90 lbs weight, horizontally or vertically, for distances between 4 to 60 feet, over a period of 20 hours.
• Operate a pallet jack to move pallets horizontally, supporting weights of up to 500 lbs., utilizing a force of up to 85 lbs., covering distances of up to 100 feet over a period of 5 hours.
• Transfer product stands horizontally, handling weights of up to 70 lbs., with a force requirement of up to 25 lbs., over a maximum distance of 50 feet within a 10-hour timeframe.
• Possess the capability to relocate tables weighing up to 70 lbs by exerting a force greater than 35 lbs over a distance of up to 2 feet for a period of 1 hour.
