Bagging Worker

Job Summary of Bagging Worker:

As a ShopRite bagging worker, you will safely and effectively package customer orders to provide a positive customer experience. In addition to helping with other duties as required to support store operations, you will help maintain a neat, orderly, and secure front-end and shopping environment. Throughout your shift, you will also assist every customer in a kind and friendly manner.

Responsibilities of Bagging Worker:

• Properly bag customers orders using correct bagging techniques for safety and efficiency.
• Greet all customers and provide them with prompt, courteous service and assistance.
• Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, equipment, and utensils as needed.
• Keep the floor clear of debris and spills to maintain a safe shopping environment.
• Return unwanted or abandoned items to the appropriate departments.
• Handle damaged or return-to-stock products in accordance with company policies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at the front-end, including register areas and bagging stations.
• Assist in collecting carts from the parking lot and returning them to the cart corral or store entrance as assigned.
• Promote for sale any current charitable promotions to customers.
• Check prices and be knowledgeable about the location of items in the store.
• Follow all safety and sanitation procedures in accordance with company policies.
• Stand at work station for the duration of scheduled shift, which may exceed 8 hours per day.
• Work cooperatively with front-end and other store associates to maintain store standards.
• Utilize and maintain equipment as required by department; report any equipment problems immediately.
• Perform all duties in accordance with ShopRite Service Priorities: Safety, Friendliness, Presentation, and Efficiency.
• Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
• Work overtime as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications of Bagging Worker:

• Proficiency in English entails the competence to skillfully read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the language.
• Ability to be on foot and mobile for the complete duration of the allocated shift.
• Capacity to be upright, flex, rotate, stretch, apply force, move, and lift 25 lbs routinely, and handle 50 lbs occasionally.
• Tolerance for dust and cleaning solutions during the completion of usual housekeeping duties.
• Ability to operate effectively in different weather scenarios while collecting carts.
• Expertise in communicating with customers in a warm and supportive manner.
• Facility in working jointly with others.
• Ability to follow and fulfill all assigned work schedules and adhere to the time tracking policies in place.
