As a Grocery Bagging Assistant working at ShopRite, your key responsibility involves bagging customer orders accurately while prioritizing safety and efficiency. You will play an essential part in upholding a tidy and well-organized front-end area, as well as supporting store operations as required. Moreover, your interactions with customers should always be pleasant and helpful throughout your shift.

Responsibilities of Grocery Bagging Assistant:

• Implement suitable bagging methods to safely and efficiently handle customers goods.
• Greet each visitor and ensure they receive swift and polite assistance.
• Maintain cleanliness by regularly disinfecting and sanitizing work surfaces, equipment, and utensils.
• It is crucial to regularly remove any clutter or spills from the sales floor to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Take back or return items that are surplus or forgotten to the relevant departments.
• Comply with company regulations for handling damaged or returnable items.
• The front-end, which encompasses the register locations and bagging stations, should be kept clean and organized.
• Support in the task of retrieving carts from the parking lot and returning them to the assigned cart corral or store entrance.
• Showcase current donation drives and charitable activities that customers can engage with during their purchase.
• Be well-versed in the pricing information and have a solid awareness of where items can be found in the store.
• Observe and implement safety and sanitation protocols as per the organization's standards.
• Stay upright at your workstation during the scheduled shift, which may surpass the 8-hour mark per day.
• Engage in teamwork with front-end and other store teammates to preserve store guidelines.
• Abide by equipment operation and maintenance requirements specified by the department; report any equipment problems without delay.
• Consistently demonstrate adherence to ShopRite's Service Priorities, emphasizing Safety, Friendliness, Presentation, and Efficiency in all activities.
• Make it a priority to attend regularly and be punctual.
• Execute overtime tasks as assigned.
• Execute tasks beyond the regular scope of responsibilities.

Qualifications of Grocery Bagging Assistant:

• Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions when collecting carts.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies.
