Role and Responsibilities:

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will perform food preparation and presentation tasks, maintain the cold case, fresh pack, salad, and hot bars, and support sanitation and stocking activities. You will ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to safety standards while providing excellent customer service.

• Prepare food items for the cold case, fresh pack, salad, and hot bars according to production sheets.
• Prepare food items according to recipes to ensure quality and consistency.
• Ensure all prepared items are labeled, dated, covered, monitored for freshness, and rotated properly.
• Monitor food levels and replenish as needed in a timely manner.
• Arrive on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready for scheduled shifts; attend required trainings and meetings.
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer needs promptly and courteously while modeling suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximize sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising of products.
• Follow established procedures including Weights and Measures, sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe working and shopping environment, including walk-ins and freezers.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing.
• Report safety hazards and violations immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Thorough product knowledge.
• Ability to follow a recipe and ensure consistency.
• Good understanding of food production and fundamental cooking techniques.
• Basic math skills for measuring and portioning.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to meet customer service expectations in all interactions.
• Effective time management, organizational skills, and ability to follow procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 12 months of retail experience.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Standing/walking 6 8 hours during an 8-hour workday.
• Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• Physical motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
• Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
• Exposure to temperatures up to 90°F.
• Ability to work in both wet and dry conditions.
• Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
• May require use of ladders.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly wage range: $16.50 $30.20, commensurate with experience.

• Eligibility for Whole Benefits is determined under the terms of the applicable plan at the date of hire.
