Grocery Supervisor

Company Overview:

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Grocery Supervisor to support the smooth operation of the grocery department. In this role, you will assist with scheduling and supervising the stock crew, overseeing displays, and ensuring efficient department operations. You will support team leaders, associate team leaders, and order writers, while maintaining Whole Foods Market's commitment to customer service, food safety, and core values.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Grocery Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role in guiding the stock crew, maintaining department standards, and supporting team performance.

• Supervise and delegate tasks based on department needs.
• Work with leadership to resolve team concerns or issues.
• Respond promptly to customer and team member needs and concerns.
• Assist with sorting and stocking processes for at least 75% of scheduled shifts.
• Train team members as delegated using checklists and training materials.
• Foster a positive work environment that supports high team morale.
• Complete inventory management processes, spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets.
• Track productivity of the stocking crew utilizing the case count tracker.
• Open and close the department according to established procedures.
• Maintain the highest standards of retail execution and compelling displays.
• Encourage teamwork, respect, and positive morale across the department.
• Monitor customer flows and direct team members as needed to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel team members to sustain a high-performance team and reduce turnover.
• Provide timely and thorough performance evaluations.
• Communicate and model Whole Foods Market's vision and goals consistently.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 12 months of retail experience.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, motivational, and customer relationship skills.
• Thorough product and process knowledge.
• Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.
• Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
• Demonstrated decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to delegate effectively.
• Ability to teach and mentor others in a constructive manner.
• Responsibility and accountability in recognizing and accomplishing all assigned tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supervising or leading a retail team is an advantage.
