Responsibilities of Lead Grocery Clerk:

• Inspiring peers to work together towards delivering the finest shopping experience for our patrons, with a specific emphasis on providing an exceptional checkout service.
• Communicating with team members to assign daily duties.
• Mentoring team members to excel in customer service and sales, adhere to Meijer standards, and complete all required training sessions.
• Engaging in peer coaching and training for new team members or potential high performers can have a constructive impact on team productivity by fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
• Working alongside management to strategize department schedules that promote team member engagement, customer service excellence, store sales growth, and overall profitability.
• Supervising the proper implementation of rotation and dating procedures to preserve the quality of items.
• Leading the team in adhering to food safety standards and regulations while working safely and maintaining complete accountability.
• Instructing team members on how to handle tasks such as ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and showcasing products, where relevant.

• Overseeing a cash register and processing payments when required.
• Operating equipment that is powered when required.
