Job Summary of Pharmacy Sales Associate:

Qualifications of Pharmacy Sales Associate:

• It is a requirement to be 18 years old or above and to hold the appropriate state licensing or certifications.
• Capability in utilizing English encompasses the ability to read, write, speak, interpret, and analyze the language competently.
• Capability in executing simple mathematical calculations.
• Capacity to stand and walk during the entire duration of an assigned work shift.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift 50 lbs.
• Capacity to function effectively in different temperature ranges.
• Capability to withstand dust and chemical elements while engaged in everyday household management responsibilities.
• Ability to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way. Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Capacity to fulfill all scheduled work hours and adhere to regulations regarding timeliness and attendance.
• Competence in the operation of essential computer hardware and software is a must. Being available for overtime work is expected. Respecting the confidentiality of information is a priority.

Responsibilities of Pharmacy Sales Associate:

• The proper execution of the primary responsibilities for this job demands that the Associate has the necessary qualifications outlined above.
• Extend a warm greeting to every patron and deliver efficient, gracious service and aid.
• Make sure to correctly document the dispensing of prescriptions.
• Collect payments correctly and return precise change in a timely manner. Follow the guidelines outlined by the State Board of Pharmacy, HIPAA, the Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Food and Drug Administration in compliance with State and Federal drug laws.
• Uphold the necessary security measures within the Pharmacy Department.
• Maintain a standard of professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions involving patients and their health data.
• Provide a friendly and prompt response when picking up the phone. Collect medication requests from individuals and validate essential information like name, address, phone number, date of birth, allergies, and insurance particulars for verification.
• Keep pharmaceuticals in order and restock as per Pharmacist's guidance. Support clients in locating OTC items in the store. Have a firm grasp of the products offered in the department.
• Successfully complete the HIPAA Privacy and Security training program and gain proficiency in operating digital processing equipment, recognizing various image types, and differentiating related items.
• Ensure the work environment remains clean, orderly, and safe. Follow sanitation and quality assurance protocols to sanitize all equipment, utensils, and surfaces.
• Prevent the accumulation of trash and puddles on the floor.
• Carry out responsibilities in alignment with the Company's HAZCOM initiative and ensure adherence to the manufacturer's prescribed directions on chemical product labels for their safe and effective application.
• Adhere to departmental protocols for using and servicing equipment; report any equipment issues promptly.
• Engage in the routine lifting, pushing, pulling, and rotating of items weighing 25 lbs., with occasional weights of up to 50 lbs.
• Stand at work station for duration of scheduled shift, which may exceed 8 hours per day.
• Possess awareness of store pricing and item placement. Advocate ongoing charitable campaigns to Customers. Comprehend and comply with Company regulations on reducing theft in department activities.
• Follow Pharmacy operation guidelines set forth by Local, State, and Federal regulations, as well as uphold Company regulations, safety protocols, and security standards, in addition to adhering to health and civil code regulations across different levels of government. Participate in all pertinent departmental training sessions.
• Ensure consistent and timely attendance while fulfilling job duties as outlined by ShopRite guidelines.
