As the Assistant Food Department Manager, your primary responsibility is to assist the Produce-Floral Manager in overseeing inventory, maintaining pricing accuracy, facilitating training, and managing operational tasks that demand meticulous attention. This role requires speed, precision, and a dedication to excellence to drive results while ensuring a superior experience for both customers and staff. Responsibilities of Assistant Food Department Manager:

• Coordinating the ordering of produce items with the Produce-Floral Manager
• Greeting guests and proactively assisting them in a friendly manner with accurate and timely information
• Making recommendations and accommodating requests
• Managing order guides/ordering deadlines/reducing shrink/damage
• Properly receiving/stocking of goods that follow rotation standards when replenishing product levels
• As needed, assist the Assistant Floral Manager within the floral department
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members on-the-job as well as through The Fresh Market's internal training platform to provide excellent guest service in a safe and secure manner

Qualifications of Assistant Food Department Manager:

• Proven track record of three-plus years in the retail, restaurant, or hospitality sector
• Experience leading for at least 1 year
• Practical experience with Microsoft Office applications is highly sought after by employers
• To qualify, an individual must have attained the age of 18
