Role and Responsibilities:

As a Clerk, you will play an essential role in customer satisfaction and store efficiency. Your responsibilities include:

• Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Process transactions, including cash, credit, debit, coupons, and loyalty benefits.
• Respond to product inquiries and offer suggestions to improve the shopping experience.
• Comply with company guidelines on restricted items such as alcohol and tobacco.
• Ensure the checkout area is safe, clean, and well-maintained.
• Maintain register accuracy and follow cash-handling protocols.
• Promote Kroger services, initiatives, and special deals including loyalty programs and surveys.
• Report pricing discrepancies, safety concerns, or theft in line with company policies.
• Support a positive work environment by assisting team members and fostering collaboration.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills including counting, addition, and subtraction.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to remain professional under pressure.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in cashiering, courtesy clerk, or customer service roles.
• Ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages.
