Responsibilities of Retail Deli Manager:

Playing a critical part, the Retail Deli Manager assists customers in making health-conscious food selections by delivering exceptional customer service while overseeing and leading one of the most active teams in our store.

• Enhance departmental productivity and profitability through effective management and merchandising techniques
• Administer the supervision of inventory control processes to uphold product quality throughout the supply chain
• Organize the coordination of production, merchandising, and sales by engaging in regular planning, guiding, target setting, communication, and collaborative efforts
• Direct a collaborative team effort focused on delivering superior product quality, exceptional service, and a remarkable customer experience
• Interact with and assess team members by engaging in coaching sessions, providing feedback, and conducting one-on-one development discussions, and providing recommendations for merit increases within the bi-annual performance assessment process.
• Be a regular participant in store meetings and discussions.
• Partner with the Store Manager to determine the best candidates for employment and advancement within the organization.
• Show confidence in using your own judgment to resolve Team Member problems effectively.
• Engage in taking and documenting appropriate corrective actions, which may involve working closely with business and HR associates to address performance concerns by utilizing coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination as necessary.
• Boost productivity and efficiency through the creation and fine-tuning of staffing levels and timetables.
• Transmit criteria, projected results, revisions to policies, and insight into products to team members.
• Manage a team dedicated to delivering the best quality products, highest standard of service, and the ultimate customer experience through collaboration.
• Administer the handling of product procurement, acceptance, and storing
• The operation and upkeep of deli machinery are necessary tasks for daily routines
• Verify the implementation of health, safety, and sanitation protocols and ensure that other deli team colleagues are conscious of and adhering to these guidelines
• Administer the department stocks by monitoring weekly sales data, and acquire products and materials to fulfill customer needs and the company's gross profit targets
• Team up with the Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, and Assistant Deli Manager to drive the store and department towards success by offering outstanding customer service and expressing a clear dedication to the culinary arts.
• Take on the responsibility of being a Key Carrier at the store and be willing to act as an MOD as the situation demands.

Qualifications of Retail Deli Manager:

Individuals aiming to become a Retail Deli Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market should have the following qualifications:

• Candidates should have reached the age of 18 and demonstrate a minimum of two years in supervisory positions and two years of involvement in deli department functions, or an equivalent blend of experiences
• The capacity to adapt to a shifting schedule that involves nights, weekends, and holidays is a mandatory skill for this role.
• Be knowledgeable about staff reports, margin assessments, weekly sales figures, and financial milestones.
• Exhibit an affable and positive demeanor when interacting with both Team Members and customers.
• Strong communication skills, including written and oral proficiency, as well as the capability to give and take direction, are necessary for effective participation in a team-oriented setting
• Develop a keen eye for detail while honing analytical skills and problem-solving acumen
• Exhibit excellent organization and planning capabilities, skilled at prioritizing tasks and responsibilities
• Maintain Food Safety certification and ensure alignment with federal, state, and internal regulations and criteria concerning product quality, food safety, accurate weighing, workplace safety, refrigeration procedures, and hygienic practices
• The task necessitates carrying objects that can weigh up to 70 lbs in either a horizontal or vertical position across a distance of up to 20 feet without the use of mechanical tools for a maximum of 4 hours
• The job necessitates the ability to be on your feet continuously for up to 4 hours, adding up to 8 hours throughout a single shift
• Perform tasks involving a slicer, packaging, and cooking machinery; contributing to the preservation of all equipment to ensure safety during operation
• Be prepared to undertake other associated obligations as instructed
