Job Summary of Transaction Clerk:

As a Transaction Clerk, the primary duty is to deliver a welcoming, swift, and correct payment procedure for our customers. This encompasses managing sales, processing transactions, and encouraging membership enrollment at Bj's, alongside preserving the hygienic and systematic arrangement of the front-end space.

Essential functions, obligations, and crucial tasks:

• Ensures top-notch member satisfaction by welcoming members warmly, processing transactions promptly, and responding politely to inquiries.
• Utilizes the POS software to scan products in order to maintain accuracy in pricing and inventory management.
• Manages multiple forms of payments, including cash, checks, credit, and mobile transactions.
• Describes and outlines the perks of being a member, including the opportunities for renewal and advancement through programs like BJ’s Rewards and EASY Renewal.
• Ensures that receipts are issued and change is given correctly while accurately completing all transactions.
• Aids patrons navigating self-checkout and scan-and-go stations, addressing minor technical glitches.
• Responsible for keeping the front-end zone, registers, and customer payment counters clean and neat.
• Stays up to date with promotions and advertisements to keep members informed about savings and special promotions.
• Compliance with club regulations and protocols to uphold operational efficiency and enhance member contentment.
• Executes additional tasks as given, which may involve supporting various departments as necessary.
• Punctual and reliable attendance is a key component of this job.

Environmental Job Conditions:

• Often standing and walking on solid surfaces.
• Periodic bending, extending, and transporting items up to 30 pounds (heavier objects aided by others).
