Job Summary of Deli Support Associate:

Performing tasks associated with the deli service counter as a Deli Support Associate entails making sure that the department's look, quality, variety, safety, and food safety are continuously maintained at the highest standard. You help team members with everyday tasks, answer questions from clients, and serve them with efficiency and friendliness.

Responsibilities of Deli Support Associate:

• Greet and assist customers with locating and selecting products.
• Deliver outstanding, friendly customer service and use skills and knowledge to offer solutions that meet or exceed customers' expectations.
• Slice, cut, prepare, weigh and package products according to established standards and quality goals.
• Adhere to highest product quality standards to support our department strategy.
• Achieve productivity standards as outlined in Management Planning.
• Develop product knowledge in various areas of the department.
• Perform all assigned cleaning functions in accordance with company policy.
• Assist in training other associates and perform other functions as assigned.

Qualifications of Deli Support Associate:

• While experience in deli, restaurant, or food service roles is helpful, it is not a strict requirement.
• Polishing skills in communication, customer service excellence, and sales proficiency.
• Proficient in interpersonal communication and a dedicated team player.
• Potential and keenness to understand multiple job duties and technical necessities.
• Ability to efficiently multitask and prioritize assignments in a high-tempo environment.
• Conforming to the specified age mandates is essential.
• Meeting the physical expectations of the role is mandatory, regardless of the need for reasonable adjustments.

Physical Requirements of Deli Support Associate:

• Frequently lift loads up to 15 pounds and occasionally manage heavier items weighing up to 40 pounds.
• It is common to lift a 20-pound item to shoulder height frequently and overhead occasionally.
• Regularly exert force to push and pull objects, with a typical weight range of 3 to 15 pounds, and the ability to manage loads of up to 40 pounds intermittently.
• Carry out consistent hand and arm movements while being in a standing or walking position for most of the time on the job.
• Satisfy the department's activity volume expectations.
• Repetitive bending, stretching, holding, and lifting items at or above waist level are vital aspects of the job.
• The action of using hands to manipulate controls, sense objects, and maneuver tools is essential for unlocking boxes or cases and for the preparation and cleaning of produce items.
• Exhibit skill in handling a broad range of substances commonly used in cleaning materials, packaging supplies, and food items.
• Can work in hot or cold conditions for durations of up to 20 minutes.
