Role and Responsibilities:

As a Produce Stocker, you will maintain the quality, presentation, and availability of fresh fruits and vegetables, ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers. You will stock, rotate, and organize produce while adhering to food safety standards.

• Unload, receive, and stock fresh produce items accurately and efficiently.
• Arrange produce displays attractively, following store standards and planograms.
• Rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) to ensure freshness and reduce waste.
• Ensure proper labeling, pricing, and signage are displayed clearly and accurately.
• Inspect produce for freshness, quality, and signs of spoilage or damage, removing damaged items promptly.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to the Produce Manager.
• Assist in inventory counts and support product ordering and receiving.
• Provide friendly and knowledgeable assistance to customers with produce inquiries.
• Assist with bagging and packing produce orders, including online orders if applicable.
• Follow all food safety regulations and company policies regarding handling and storage of produce.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of produce displays, storage areas, and workspaces.
• Collaborate with other department members and store personnel to support store operations.
• Communicate effectively with management regarding inventory, quality issues, or customer feedback.
• Assist with other store tasks during slow periods or as directed by supervisors.

Required Skills and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in produce stocking, grocery retail, or food service preferred.
• Knowledge of fresh produce types, handling, and storage practices.
• Ability to identify fresh and high-quality fruits and vegetables.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic math skills for pricing, labeling, and inventory tasks.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work physically demanding shifts, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in refrigerated and non-climate-controlled environments.
• Ability to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods.
