Role and Responsibilities:

As a Food Service Clerk at Brookshire Grocery Company, you will provide friendly, knowledgeable assistance to customers while preparing and maintaining deli products. Your work ensures a safe, clean, and enjoyable shopping experience for all customers.

• Welcome and assist customers, take deli orders, and provide personalized product recommendations.
• Prepare deli items such as sliced meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches following company procedures.
• Maintain product freshness, rotate stock, and create visually appealing displays.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards consistently.
• Clean and sanitize deli counters, slicers, equipment, and work areas regularly.
• Receive, inspect, and stock deli products while monitoring expiration dates.
• Process transactions accurately and efficiently at the deli register.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
• Promote deli specials, seasonal items, and in-store promotions to drive sales.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute suggestions to improve customer service and deli operations.

Required Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in deli, food service, or retail is advantageous; training is provided.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a professional and approachable demeanor.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Basic math skills for pricing and handling transactions.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures (training provided as needed).
