Job Summary of Customer Assistance Associate:

As a Customer Assistance Associate, you will be in charge of delivering cheerful and efficient assistance to customers, aiding with inquiries, processing transactions, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience. You contribute to the cleanliness and organization of the workplace and assist team members with daily tasks.

Responsibilities of Customer Assistance Associate:

  • Provide excellent and welcoming customer service.
  • Observe and obey all regulations and procedures established by the company.
  • Ensure that the check-out areas are cleaned daily and be prepared to promptly clean up any spills or broken items.
  • Keep up a clean and well-groomed personal appearance always while adhering to the company's guidelines on personal presentation.
  • Aid in specialized projects and execute additional duties as directed by superiors.
  • Adhere to the management planning directives to foster a consistent level of productivity throughout the organization.
  • Follow all company safety guidelines and communicate any required equipment maintenance or repair work. Ensure the work area is free from debris and safety hazards to promote a secure environment.
  • Demonstrating fairness, dignity, and respect towards colleagues is a fundamental principle.
  • Perform a meticulous price assessment.
  • Monitor and restrict the excessive consumption of store essentials, like ribbons, transaction paper, bags, and cleaning resources.
  • Take part in floor sweeping activities throughout store hours and help with other maintenance tasks like maintaining the cleanliness of break rooms and restrooms as directed.
  • Assist in the immediate removal of spills and broken glass or plastic containers to ensure safety and prevent potential hazards.
  • Enforce security protocols by staying watchful and observant of customers' behavior and reactions.
  • Inform the manager or security of any abnormal actions that need to be addressed.
  • Ensure that the store is clean and well-organized inside and out.
  • Sort reusable bottles following vendor guidelines.
  • Carry out any additional duties as required.
  • Offer a friendly welcome and ensure prompt, courteous service to all customers.
  • Observe the established procedures for enclosing products.
  • Swiftly restock items to their original shelves, with priority given to perishable and refrigerated products.
  • Round up shopping trolleys and transport them to designated areas for pickup and return.
  • Provide takeout service according to the company's regulations.
  • Employ a cash register or bottle slip to add up and record bottle returns, facilitating the delivery of accurate and effective customer service.
  • Follow safety protocols rigorously when operating the bottle crushing equipment.
  • Expected to fulfill the physical criteria of the job, with or without appropriate modifications.

Qualifications of Customer Assistance Associate:

  • Mastering the art of effective communication and customer service.
  • Job performance in certain areas necessitates meeting the prescribed age qualifications.
  • Ready to explore and understand various job requirements.
  • Proved proficiency in fulfilling the technical job requirements.

Physical Requirements of Customer Assistance Associate:

  • Use hands frequently/continuously , grasping, reaching and hand/arm motions while standing the majority of the shift.
  • Bend and lift products weighing up to 15 pounds continuously, 25 pounds frequently, and 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Push or pull up to 75 pounds on occasion.
  • Be able to handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning materials, packaging materials, fresh fruits, vegetables, house plants/flowers and household cleaners.
  • Work in and out of inclement weather when necessary
  • Gather up to five shopping carts and push them to designated areas.
  • BOTTLES where applicable: Move empty bottles and containers from the front end to the back room.
