Role and Responsibilities:
The Customer Service Cashier is essential in creating a positive checkout experience that is fast, accurate, and friendly. This role ensures financial accuracy while providing dependable service that strengthens customer confidence and loyalty. Key duties include:
- Customer Service: Welcome, assist, and thank customers promptly and politely; resolve or escalate issues to management; and share details about promotions or specials as needed.
- Cash Register Operation: Efficiently process sales using the scanning system; operate cashier equipment; handle all forms of payment; give accurate change; and support training of new cashiers when necessary.
- Product Stocking and Maintenance: Stock and organize front-end merchandise; return unwanted or misplaced items to the proper department; manage carts; and maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
- Loss Prevention & Compliance: Report theft, shoplifting, unauthorized markdowns, or other violations; and follow all safety, service, and security policies.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Must meet company and legal minimum age requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Capable of following both written and verbal instructions.
- Authorization to work in the United States or eligibility to obtain authorization.
- Successful completion of background screening and pre-employment drug testing.
