Responsibilities of Store Seafood Clerk:

• As a Store Seafood Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will be working in a department that is known for its popularity and high customer satisfaction
• In the capacity of a Meat Clerk, excelling in customer service, following safe food handling protocols, and having comprehensive knowledge of products and preparation methods are crucial.
• A hands on position, the Store Seafood Clerk receives, stores, and grinds meats; unloads and transports fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery truck; counts and weighs incoming articles and compares results against an invoice; and examines meats in storage and rotates meats to avoid aging.
• A Store Seafood Clerk provides a high level of prompt and friendly customer service; assists customers with questions, and special orders and needs, while maintaining a positive, customer focused work environment.
• The Store Seafood Clerk is informed about the weekly ad deals, offers guidance to customers on product locations in the store, and follows the Clean as You Go and Fresh at 4 policies.
• This position requires adhering to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department. If youre someone who thrives in a fast pace environment then we want to hear from you!

Qualifications of Store Seafood Clerk:

• Qualifications entail being over 18 years of age, possessing a high school diploma or an equivalent credential, and having a basic understanding of mathematics, weights, and measurements.
• Exhibit dependability and reliability in executing specified tasks, and be open to undertaking other relevant duties as needed.
• Demonstrate an outgoing and personable approach; project a positive attitude and effectively interact with our customers.
• Show competence in managing a schedule that is flexible and responsive to the changing needs of the business, involving work on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• It is crucial to have strong communication skills and be able to actively participate in a team environment
• Manage basic cleanliness duties in the department; disinfect and tidy up the workspace (encompassing surfaces, flooring, walls, display units, refrigerators, freezers, etc.).
• Abide by safety procedures, health regulations, precise measurement guidelines, and adhere to company recipes
• The position entails the ability to stand for a maximum of 4 hours consecutively and for a total of 8 hours per shift, including walking a distance of up to 2 miles during an 8-hour workday.
• Responsible for functioning within a temperature-controlled space and executing routine cleaning tasks within the specific section; sanitize and maintain cleanliness in the work zone, covering surfaces such as tables, floors, walls, refrigeration units, and freezers.
• Having good eyesight is crucial when using sharp tools like knives, band saws, grinders, sausage makers, box cutters, wrapping machines, and meat tenderizers.
• Have the proficiency to transport items weighing from 25 to 90 lbs both horizontally and vertically, within distances of 4 to 60 feet, throughout a 20-hour shift.
• Handle a pallet jack to horizontally shift pallets weighing up to 500 lbs., requiring a maximum force of 85 lbs., traveling up to 100 feet within a duration of 5 hours.
• Displace product displays horizontally, supporting weights of up to 70 lbs., with a force exertion of up to 25 lbs., over distances of up to 50 feet during a 10-hour workday.
• Can move tables weighing under 70 lbs by applying a force greater than 35 lbs and relocating them up to 2 feet within an hour.
