Responsibilities of Store Bakery Clerk:

• Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
• The Store Bakery Clerk is responsible for providing a high level of customer service and ensuring that Bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, always ensuring cleanliness of the Bakery department area
• As a Store Bakery Clerk, you will maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves and products, keeping floors free of spills, removing hazardous debris from floor, and sweeping
• Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining the rotation of all bakery products and discarding outdated or spoiled items
• Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality

Qualifications of Store Bakery Clerk:

• Eligible applicants must be over 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or a comparable credential, and have acquired 1-2 years of bakery experience, or an appropriate mixture of educational background and practical exposure.
• Show consistency and trustworthiness by being able to adjust your schedule to accommodate shifts during nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Show a friendly and sociable demeanor, maintaining a positive mindset and proficient communication with our customers.
• Being skilled in communication and able to follow instructions and work well in a team setting is crucial
• Exhibit proficiency in phone etiquette and managing personalized orders
• Ensure cleanliness and safety in the department by conducting general housekeeping activities, such as cleaning and disinfecting workspaces, floors, walls, and refrigeration equipment.
• Be able to operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed. Uses knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products.
• This position mandates the ability to stand for up to 3 hours consecutively and up to 8 hours per shift. In addition, the role involves lifting trays weighing up to 5 lbs. and transferring them vertically within the range of 7 to 64 inches for a duration of up to 10 hours. Furthermore, candidates are required to transfer items weighing up to 40 lbs. both vertically and horizontally within the range of 5 to 36 inches and for distances of up to 36 feet for up to 10 hours without any mechanical aid.
• Ensure adherence to safety, health, and Weights and Measures directives in the pursuit and maintenance of a Food Handlers credential.
