Job Summary of Frozen Team Manager:
The Frozen Team Manager oversees the efficient operation and profitability of the dairy and frozen department while also training, guiding, and supervising all team members. Department Managers are accountable for the overall performance of their department and must also serve as the Manager on Duty (MOD) during assigned shifts
Responsibilities of Frozen Team Manager:
- Placing a high priority on offering world-class customer service.
- Modeling integrity, responsibility, and excellence through adherence to all policies.
- Constructing appealing, comprehensive, and conveniently purchase-ready divisions.
- Procuring products for the dairy and frozen departments, along with monitoring inventory levels for deli and meat categories.
- Leading initiatives to oversee margin, COGS, and overall department profitability, with a key emphasis on shrinking reduction and maximizing the effectiveness of procurement.
- Verifying that the features of available products conform to the company's established norms.
- Organizing and maintaining records of specialized purchases.
- Leveraging merchandising shelves, endcaps, and interactive showcases to attract customers.
- Directing and actively participating in tagging items, arranging goods neatly, rotating stock, cleaning the store, marking down prices, stocking shelves, and organizing extra inventory.
- Coordinating the training and monitoring of department staff by assigning tasks and ensuring their execution.
- Working in tandem with managers from other departments to create a cross-training plan ensuring staff competence in various job functions.
- Involving the audience through active demos and passive displays.
- Helping with the interviewing and hiring process to meet departmental requirements.
- Collaborating with the store manager on performance and disciplinary matters within the department.
- Store opening and closing responsibilities, which involve tasks like managing DSR preparation and handling cash transactions during closing hours.
- Overseeing register tasks like supporting cashiers when needed, managing product returns, responding to customer issues, and covering register shifts, particularly those scheduled for breaks.
- Ensuring the welfare and security of customers and employees.
- It is not uncommon for businesses to face disruptions to their regular operations, which may require managing situations like loitering individuals, solicitation, severe weather events, and inappropriate restroom usage.
- Handling customer questions according to company policies, which may include using Structure/Function statements or statements emphasizing the nutritional assistance provided.
- Constantly elevating comprehension of various goods.
- Utilizing SAP and inventory management software simultaneously, running and evaluating reports through BEx, sending emails, and utilizing other IS programs as needed.
- Working a schedule based on store needs which includes evenings, weekends, holidays. Position requires working five days, 40 hours per week and attending mandatory store meetings.
Qualifications of Frozen Team Manager:
- Candidates with a High School diploma, GED, or similar educational background are preferred.
- Forklift certification involves showcasing the capability to operate forklifts safely and competently.
- 1-2 years of experience in retail experience in a grocery or retail environment preferred; natural foods background is a plus.
- It is preferred that candidates have managed others for 1-2 years.
- Satisfactorily completing food safety training programs as mandated by regulations, and ensuring ongoing conformity by keeping certifications current and appropriately recorded.
- Ability to manage shifting priorities adeptly and remain committed to the current objective.
- The necessity of expedited task completion.
- Skillful in handling customer service interactions proficiently.
- Displaying top-notch organization and attention to particulars.
- Aptitude for understanding and carrying out directions.
- Trained in cashier duties, including the precise counting of cash.
- Capable with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements of Frozen Team Manager:
- Must demonstrate the ability to consistently lift or transport objects up to 10 lbs, frequently manage objects weighing 11-20 lbs, and occasionally handle objects weighing 21-50 lbs. Additionally, must be capable of occasionally handling objects weighing 51-100 lbs with a team lift.
