As a Checkout Attendant, the main task is to ensure a friendly, efficient, and accurate payment process for our customers. This involves processing transactions, handling payments, and promoting BJ's membership options while maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the front end area.

Qualifications:

• It is preferred to have basic math abilities and familiarity with cash transactions.
• Experience in roles such as cashier, retail, or customer service is advantageous.

Essential duties, key responsibilities, and primary accountabilities:

• Enhances member experience by warmly greeting members, efficiently processing purchases, and responding politely to questions.
• Utilizes the POS software to scan products in order to maintain accuracy in pricing and inventory management.
• Deals with different payment options such as cash, check, credit, and mobile transactions.
• Explains the benefits offered by memberships, including renewals and upgrades through schemes like BJ's Loyalty and EASY Renewal programs.
• Ensures the precision of all transactions by issuing receipts and accurately handling change.
• Assists customers utilizing self-checkout and scan-to-pay terminals in troubleshooting basic technical challenges.
• Manages the cleanliness of the front-end region, cash registers, and lanes for member transactions.
• Stays updated on promotions and advertisements to inform members of savings and exclusive offers.
• Abiding by club policies and procedures to secure operational proficiency and member gratification.
• Executes additional tasks as given, which may involve supporting various departments as necessary.
• The role necessitates adhering to a consistent and reliable attendance schedule.

Environmental Job Conditions:

• Repeatedly being upright and mobile on hard surfaces.
• Occasional stooping, reaching, and handling loads of up to 30 lbs (heavier items with assistance).
• Mostly indoors with minimal exposure to temperature changes or loud noises.
• Sporadic interaction with household cleaners.
