Produce Sales Clerk

Job Summary of Produce Sales Clerk:

Support the operations of the Produce Department by overseeing the freshness, sufficient stocking, and proper display of products, playing a key role in providing top-notch customer service.

Responsibilities of Produce Sales Clerk:

• Thoroughly evaluate the quality, count, and freshness of products to relay accurate information during communication processes.
• Set up items for sale within the sales space by completing tasks such as trimming, wrapping, weighing, and tagging with prices
• Showcase merchandise in a well-maintained and vibrant arrangement.
• Keep the counters fresh as per the established standards.
• Organizing and cleaning the back room and sales floor, in addition to equipment upkeep.
• Stay proactive in monitoring the case temperatures and promptly inform the relevant manager of any temperature deviations.
• Uphold positive customer interactions by offering timely and polite service.
• Abide by the prescribed rules and procedures for the department.
• Ensure a clean and sanitary setting through the clean as you go regimen.
• Educate yourself on the product and its diverse uses.
• Welcome all clients warmly and pay attention to their gestures.
• Adhere to the regulations and standards as set out in the Employee Handbook
• Support with the unloading of cargo.
• Convey merchandise to cooling units and assigned storage areas.
• Manage supply inventory and communicate with the Produce Manager to determine when orders are needed.

Qualifications of Produce Sales Clerk:

• Basic math skills and ability to accurately count product and match against invoices.
• Must have strong communication skills for assisting the customers.
• Must have dexterity in hands to enable trimming and packaging of produce.
• Ability to unload, transport, and place merchandise in their specified areas.
• Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds up to fifty percent (50%) of the time.
