The primary duties of a Bulk Resource Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market involve supervising the upkeep, packaging, and restocking of all bulk food items featured in the store.
Responsibilities of Bulk Resource Manager:
- Responsible for abiding by the merchandising Bulk plan, and overseeing the team's proper scaling and packaging of bulk items, refilling bulk containers, and accurately marking bulk packages in a clear and understandable manner
- Maintain inventory accuracy, rotate products based on expiration codes, and comply with the company's sanitation policies
- Enforce adherence to company and governmental safety, health, Weights & Measures, and COOL regulations within the department
- Role includes transmitting standards, expectations, policy updates, and product familiarity to the team members
- Obligated to provide a high standard of customer service
- Confirm that bulk products are well-prepared, packaged, and displayed, and that the bulk area is consistently tidy and orderly
- It is essential to receive, unload, and stock merchandise throughout the day as needed
- Collaborate with team members to appraise and evaluate their performance through coaching, feedback discussions, and individual development meetings, and offer insights on merit increase recommendations during the biannual review process.
- Participate regularly and attentively in meetings held at the store.
- Work with the Store Manager on decisions concerning recruitment, hiring, and promotions/transfers.
- Take charge with assurance in addressing Team Member concerns through independent judgment.
- Work with business and HR counterparts to implement corrective actions when warranted, such as coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination if warranted, to manage performance effectively.
- Maximize output and efficiency through the creation and customization of schedules and staffing arrangements.
- Transmit the standards, anticipated outcomes, policy adjustments, and product information to the team.
- Supervise a team focused on delivering top-tier product quality, superior service, and an outstanding customer experience.
- Carry out the duties of a Key Carrier in the store and be available to serve as a Manager on Duty as required.
Qualifications of Bulk Resource Manager:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have 1- 2 years of experience in a retail grocery environment and 1 year of managerial leadership experience
- Be dependable and reliable having the ability to work flexible schedule that changes; including night, weekends, and holidays
- Be expected to know weekly ad items; and be able to give customers direction of product location throughout the store; does general housekeeping in the department
- Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Possess a working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
- Have and show outgoing and friendly behavior along with a positive attitude towards Team Members and customers.
- Be able to move vertically/horizontally transferring product weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4 to 36, for a distance up to 4 feet for up to 15 hours without mechanical assistance. This role requires continuous standing for up to 4 hours, for a total of 8 hours per shift
- Be able to perform other related duties as assigned
