The Store Services Manager is responsible for the effective and profitable management of the store, including the training and supervision of department employees.
Responsibilities of Store Services Manager:

- Training staff on the principles of exemplary customer service and establishing mechanisms to ensure their adherence to service standards.
- Checking and confirming that the employees are compliant with the food safety certifications and registration mandated by the state and county.
- The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for ensuring that the store is meeting and/or exceeding expectations in the following areas:
- Examination of the relationship between labor hours spent and sales generated using the Sales per Labor Hour Ratio
- Median Ticket Value, Number of Patrons, and Expenditure on Produce Goods Sold
- EBITDA
- Ensures that orders are made through the designated vendors to access the suitable discounts and manage profit margins effectively.
- Preserves adherence to organizational norms for in-stock conditions
- Tracking the array of products available, such as:
- Ongoing review of departments to sustain high-selling products and discontinue those with minimal traction
- Adhering to company regulations, new products are brought in consistently.
- Maintains the rotation and stocking of perishable goods following company standards.
- Markdowns are handled in compliance with the company's established norms.
- Responsible for supporting the Store Manager in recruiting, educating, and supervising all store workers as outlined by company regulations.
- Staff members are educated, assigned roles, and expected to fulfill responsibilities.
- Confirms that the master and daily schedules are accurate, exhaustive, and in line with the store's needs. Ensures schedules are timely posted and assigns daily tasks using the company's task sheets as a guide.
- Collaborates with managers from different departments to allocate staff members for daily tasks.
- Trains and observes employees to ensure a unified store presence and help customers in all departments.

- Wraps up the DSR and Manager's Cash efficiently and accurately.
- Assists with department manager calls and ensures lunch and break schedules are covered during shifts.
- Dealing with occasional disturbances that affect daily business functions, such as addressing issues related to loitering, handling solicitation challenges, responding to emergency weather events, and enforcing proper restroom protocols.
- Works hours as required by the store, including evenings and weekends, with a weekly schedule totaling 45 hours.
- Trains employees in providing support for decisions from the home office, adhering to directions from headquarters, and executing job responsibilities correctly.
- Absorbs and abides by messages (memos, faxes, electronic correspondence) from the head office while telecommuting.

Qualification of Store Services Manager:
- High school diploma or GED required 1-2 years management experience in grocery and/or related retail experience, natural foods industry a plus.

- Meeting state and county legal obligations by successfully completing relevant food safety training programs and passing corresponding assessments to obtain the necessary certifications.
- It is imperative to hold certification for the operation of a forklift.
- Stay compliant by ensuring your food safety certifications are current through continuous education and registering with the proper agency when necessary.
- Approaches tasks with urgency and precision, displaying a remarkable level of organization.
- Demonstrates a high level of skill in attending to customers.
- Proficiency in adhering to instructions and following them through.
