Liquor Store Associate

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Liquor Store Associate, you will increase customer confidence and loyalty by delivering courteous service, maintaining consistent operating conditions, and supporting a friendly store atmosphere. You will ensure compliance with regulations, provide excellent customer service, and contribute to operational efficiency.

• Compliance (50%): Observe customers and check identification for age verification, deny sales of alcohol or tobacco to underage or intoxicated individuals, and monitor customers to prevent open containers leaving the store.
• Customer Excellence (25%): Greet, assist, and thank customers in a courteous manner, provide product suggestions when appropriate, and deliver prompt attention to customer needs.
• Operational Excellence (25%): Stock and rotate products to ensure freshness, restock supplies efficiently, operate equipment and cashier systems accurately, maintain a clean and safe work area, and report hazards or faulty equipment.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 0–3 years of relevant retail experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• TIPS Training required prior to position start date.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, and follow instructions proficiently.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check.
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• High standard of integrity and reliability.
• Basic computer skills required for online training.
• Customer service skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Supervisory experience in retail.
• Additional certifications and trainings such as Cicerone Certification, Alcohol Compliance Training, Beer Science & Styles, Wine & Spirits Training, Cigar/Humidor Training, and related modules including cashier, service desk, grocery stocking, pricing, and MOD training.
