The primary job of the Dairy Department Clerk is to maintain the dairy and frozen areas of the store, ensuring they are well-supplied and orderly during regular business hours. Responsibilities of Dairy Department Clerk:

• Promotes safety by maintaining cleanliness in the dairy cases, storage area, and work area, which includes cleaning shelves, products, and ensuring floors are free of liquid spills and hazardous debris
• Ensure accurate tagging and pricing of all dairy items by diligently following the guidelines provided and making necessary adjustments to guarantee consistency and correctness
• The evaluation centers on the rotation process of dairy items, paying special attention to pinpointing expired inventory and eliminating outdated or spoiled products
• Offers positive assistance to customers seeking information and guidance in their shopping experience, helping them make purchases and advising on product selections; involves the sale and promotion of merchandise
• The task involves accepting, scrutinizing, and registering products to ensure they are accurately delivered, stored under suitable temperatures, and are of acceptable quality
• Watches over the point of sale advertisements. Ensures a mix of recipe booklets, merchandise discount certificates, promotional literature, and details regarding free snack items
• Involves operating and using tools like cutting implements, measuring devices, packaging equipment, waste compacting machines, waste disposals, pallet moving devices, and manual trolleys
• Applies understanding of scales and weight measures to accurately determine and label products
• Ensures a deep familiarity with products and their correct handling processes
• Regular foot patrols of the department to guarantee a clean, sanitary, and organized appearance
• There could be additional duties that need to be completed

The listed responsibilities are restricted for team members under 18 years of age:

• Engaging with a non-safety cutter knife for cutting tasks
• Using a ladder
• Utilizing a compactor to compress garbage or cardboard
• Using any motor or electronically powered equipment, which may include manual pallet jacks
• Long-term assignments in chilled storage spaces such as coolers or freezers

Qualifications of Dairy Department Clerk:

• Should be of a minimum age of 16
• Having a reliable nature implies being able to handle varying schedules, including night shifts, weekends, and holiday work, while maintaining consistency

• The job entails the handling of boxes or crates weighing between 40-60 lbs, either moving them horizontally from 5 to 72 or vertically between 62 to 9, for distances up to 10 feet without the application of any mechanical aid for a span of 6-50 hours
• Capable of walking for up to 5 miles throughout an 8-hour shift
• The use of a two-step stool is mandated for shelf access, with a maximum of one step allowed every 8 hours
• Possess the ability to traverse a distance of 3 miles in an 8-hour timeframe
• Adhere to all safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures protocols
• Possess the ability to execute additional tasks as instructed
